He died at the age of almost 85. He was a servant of God, a friend, a priest who loyally served the Body of Christ until his last breath, all the world round. The Lord gave him an extraordinary intellect and wisdom, together with the experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit. Hráč Phoenix Suns, získal titul najlepšieho nováčika roka 2002/03. V sezóne 2006/07 sa stal jedným z trojice hráčov zaradených do rebríčkov top 20 NBA v úspešnosti v streľbe, doskoku aj streľbe z poľa. Bol členom amerického tímu, ktorý na Olympiáde v Aténach v roku 2004 získal bronzovú medailu.
Keď som mal dvanásť rokov, môj otec zomrel, ale mama sa naďalej usilovala o to, aby Boh ostal v našej rodine na prvom mieste. Rozvíjanie osobného vzťahu s Ježišom mi dalo niečo, o čo som sa mohol vždy oprieť počas dosahovania svojich cieľov.
S basketbalom som začal až v štrnástich rokoch. Keď som na konci svojej prvej sezóny v tíme Phoenix Suns získal cenu „Nováčik roka“, vedel som, že to nie je len moja zásluha.
Vo všetkom, čo robím, sa spolieham na Boha, a to platí aj o basketbale. Som vďačný Ježišovi nielen za svoj talent, ale aj za to, že ma vedie a dáva môjmu životu zmysel a nádej. V živote nejde iba o to, koľko dám košov alebo ako tento rok dopadneme v NBA, neviem si predstaviť, kde by som skončil, keby Boh neviedol môj život.
Vyrastal som v kresťanskej rodine a viem, že ma to veľmi ovplyvnilo.
Možno to tak v tvojej rodine nebolo, to však ešte neznamená, že nemôžeš začať žiť s Ježišom hoci aj teraz.
Pokiaľ hľadáš niekoho, na koho sa môžeš spoľahnúť, niekoho, kto ťa usmerní a povzbudí v ťažkostiach, vyzývam ťa k tomu, aby si ešte dnes nadviazal vzťah s Ježišom.
